Dust-Free Slate Flooring Removal
Will The Job Be 100% Dust-Free?
How Do We Achieve An Almost 90 – 99.99% Dust-Free Flooring Removal and Concrete Grinding Experience For Our Clients?
Here at Dust-Free Slate Flooring Removal Sydney, we specialize in Dust-Free Slate Flooring Removal. We employ a specialty system that suctions and removes dust and debris directly from our tools into a powerful commercial dust extractor. Our equipment is powerful, strong, and guaranteed to significantly reduce, or even completely eradicate, the dust and debris that is often associated with Dust-Free Slate Flooring Removal and replacement projects.
Our specially designed dust-free equipment makes the Slate Flooring Removal process much faster than traditional Slate Flooring Removal. It is also more efficient than traditional removal techniques and is substantially cleaner and safer. This gives our Dust-Free Slate Flooring Removal process the added benefit of being the most environmentally friendly solution.
After the Dust-Free Slate Flooring Removal process, we will grind your concrete slab with the use of high-powered Dust-Free Concrete Grinding equipment that is connected directly to a high-powered commercial dust extractor. We will also perform demolition services with the use of high-powered commercial dust extraction equipment plugged directly into our tools.
Unfortunately, small amounts of dust are still produced and cannot be completely eliminated even with the most expensive high-end equipment and the latest technology. It should also be noted that certain equipment such as Jackhammers has a harder time trying to contain the dust even with the use of high-end dust extractors. While Concrete Grinders are able to contain dust a lot more easily. (Roughly 90 – 99.99% of the dust is still sucked up by a 3-engine high-powered commercial dust extractor that is plugged directly into the equipment) but sometimes a small amount of dust can still escape.
If you are concerned about the small amounts of dust that may possibly get into areas that we are not working in such as the kitchens, bathrooms, cabinets, etc. we would advise that you seal off those areas that we are not working in with plastic and sticky tape before our team arrives to avoid delays.

How Does Removing Slate Floors Work?
Interested in learning more about our team’s process for Removing Slate Floor Tiles?
Slate Floor Tile Removal involves using a specially designed blade combined with vibration from a strong jackhammer to get underneath the tiles and screed separating the Slate Floor Tiles from the subfloor.
Slate Floor Tile Removal Sydney uses this process to Remove Slate Flooring off the concrete, yellow tongue, and timber floorboards.
Screed is a mix of sand and cement and is used primarily to create a level bed to lay Slate Floor Tiles. Screed can be anything from 20-100mm thick.
Most Slate Flooring, Terracotta, or Marble tiles are laid on screed. The process of Removing Slate Tiles on screed is much the same as basic Slate Tile Removal however the process takes longer is much more labour intensive and produces a lot more rubble.
Not all Slate Flooring is laid on a screed, in some cases if you have a timber subfloor the slate may be stuck directly to the sub floor without any screed.
In this case, the job becomes much harder and more labour intensive as the slate tiles and glue bond very well to the timber subfloor and the removal process may damage the timber subfloor.
Step 1. We use a Hilti TE-2000 AVR Demolition Hammer while Removing Slate Floor Tiles which we connect to our Hilti TE DRS-B Dust Removal System which is connected to a DustMaster DM-2680-M Dust Extractor for dust suppression on all of our jobs to provide a Dust-Free Slate Floor Tile Removal experience for all of our clients.
Step 2. After we have finished Removing Slate Floor Tiles throughout your property we will remove all the Slate Tile glue/cement residue on your concrete slab with the use of a high-powered Concrete Grinder that is also directly connected to a high-powered DustMaster DM-2680-M Dust Extractor.
– While Removing Slate Floor Tiles there can be several different installation methods used, this will affect the price that we charge you for Removing Slate Floor Tiles. So it’s important that you check how your Slate Flooring was installed, as well as what your subfloor is:
If you have a CONCRETE subfloor you will require our Concrete Grinding services after we have finished Removing Slate Floor Tiles from your floor.
If you have a WOOD subfloor you will need to hire a Floor Sander to sand off any remaining glue or cement residue after we have finished Removing Slate Floor Tiles from your property. (NOTE: We do not offer a Floor Sanding service)
